The most significant cause of hair loss in women is female-pattern hair loss (FPHL),which presents with diffuse hair loss over the middle scalp. It is associated with significant psychological morbidity and has a severe negative impact on their social life.
Approved from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) topical Minoxidil stimulates hair to grow, which increases the anagen phase of hair cycle.
The effects of hair loss medications, such as minoxidil, may be amplified by low-level laser light therapy.
Hair Transplant surgery is carried out under local anesthesia and can be done in 1 or 2 consequent days depending upon the number of hair grafts. It involves moving hair follicles from non-androgen dependent back of scalp into the frontal balding areas. which can give excellent, desired and permanent results
Corticosteroid injections may also be effective such as in the case of alopecia areata. Alopecia areata causes a person’s hair to fall out in patches. The National Alopecia Areata Foundation suggests injecting corticosteroids directly into the hairless patch to stimulate new hair growth. Topical corticosteroids, which come in creams, lotions, and other forms, may also help to reduce hair loss
